Amega contracted with Ecocert®, the very first certification body to develop standards for “natural and organic cosmetics.”  Founded in France in 1991, Ecocert has become a benchmark in organic certification worldwide. 

What is Ecocert® certified?

Ecocert is a control and certification agency whose activities are governed by public authorities and legislation.  Founded in France in 1991, Ecocert is the very first certification organization to develop standards for natural and organic cosmetics. Amega Global is proud to have its EGA True products Ecocert certified.

What makes Amega’s EGA True Ecocert certified?

EGA True is Ecocert certified as a “natural and organic cosmetic.”  This means that: 

• 10% of the ingredients by weight must come from organic farming.
• 95% of the plant ingredients are certified organic.
• 95% of the ingredients must come from natural origin. 

What are other requirements to become Ecocert?

To be certified by Ecocert, a company’s products must also meet the following requirements: 

• All ingredients must come from renewable sources.
• The manufacturing process must be environmentally friendly.
• The packaging is made of biodegradable materials or of a recycled nature.
• The manufacturing and warehouse facilities have to be open to inspection at any time.

What ingredients are prohibited in EGA True?

EGA True products have none of the following ingredients:  petroleum derived ingredients or mineral oils; synthetic detergents; synthetic perfumes; artificial colors or dyes; parabens; polyethylene glycol; or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Additionally, EGA True products do not have animal-derived ingredients, unless naturally produced by them (e.g. milk, honey, etc.).  EGA True products are not tested on animals.

Where is EGA True manufactured?

EGA True is manufactured in an Ecocert certified laboratory in Switzerland.

What is the shelf life of EGA True products?

If unopened, they expire within 24 months from the date of manufacture; if opened, the shelf life is 12 months.
